How to Find a Viable Cure for Dark Circles

Author: Laurel Levine

Let me tell you a quick story. If you are looking for a viable cure for dark circles, puffiness beneath the eyes, wrinkles and sagging skin, then you are going to have to look past that which is so often recommended. The majority of the simple remedies and over the counter formulas suggested to treat these issues are not capable of producing major improvement or lasting change. The affect that they have will not rectify any of your problems.

Most of these cures will simply tighten your skin for a few hours at a time by causing the skin tissue to contract. This will temporarily draw the skin tight, increase the feeling of firmness, and help to reduce skin slackening. What these remedies don't do is address the all important reasons behind skin slackening and lost firmness and elasticity, nor what causes bags to form underneath of the eyes.

Other than not correcting the issues that will offer a workable solution for puffiness beneath the eyes, wrinkles and sagging, their answer for providing a cure for dark circles skin is usually little more than forcing the blood vessels to constrict. This does temporarily lighten the discoloration, but it will return soon enough. None of the problems that cause discoloration are typically addressed by these formulas.

In order to cause the discoloration beneath your eyes to lessen considerably, you need specific natural compounds proven to have a positive effect on the circulatory issues at work. There is an incredibly effective peptide based compound called Haloxyl, which has been proven to reduce discoloration under the eye by 60% or more. Most companies refuse to include this compound in their formulas, because it is expensive.

A cure for dark circles, puffiness beneath the eyes, wrinkles and sagging skin that contains Haloxyl will allow you to improve blood flow to the area, allow for the speedy removal of oxidized blood accumulated in the eye, and rebuild fatty tissue to plump up the skin underneath the eye. The only thing that Haloxyl can't do is lessen capillary permeability, but thinking cosmetic companies have you covered there.

This is why the companies providing you with the effective anti aging eye contour serums use another combination of peptides called Eyeliss, in addition to Haloxyl. Eyeliss strengthens your capillaries to the point where blood no longer seeps into the eye. It also reduces the bags beneath your eyes by tightening up slackening skin, increasing firmness and elasticity, and improving the drainage of excess fluid in the eye.

In order for a cure for dark circles, puffiness beneath the eyes, wrinkles and sagging skin to be complete, it has got to feature a specially developed blend of enzymes and protein complexes called Cynergy TK. What this magical ingredient does for you is reverse the lagging production of your collagen and elastin, so that you are creating these tissues in greater amounts. Cynergy TK will significantly enhance the look and feel of your skin.

Make no mistake about it. Products featuring Eyeliss, Haloxyl, and Cynergy TK do everything a cure for dark circles, puffiness beneath the eyes, wrinkles and sagging skin is supposed to.

Anti Aging Skin Care Products Must Contain Nutrients that Can Tighten Skin

Author: Laurel Levine

You need to make sure that the anti aging skin care products contain a wealth of all natural ingredients that will supply you with nutrients that can tighten skin. You may not know it, but the vast majority of the wrinkle reducing formulas available hardly supply you with anything at all that would be of nutritional value to the skin. This is because barely any of the cosmetics companies use natural compounds in their formulas.

Do you want to know why it is that so many companies fail to give you what it is you need in order to revitalize your skin? It seems that the multibillion dollar corporations feel that the cost of manufacturing anti aging skin care products using healthy, natural ingredients is just too expensive. Isn't providing you with quality, effective wrinkle reducing formulas supposed to be their number one priority?

When you use an anti aging skin care formula developed by a company that refuses to provide you with healthy, natural ingredients you are being robbed of the essential nutrients that can tighten skin. You cannot get an ample supply of vitamins, minerals, and essential fatty acids from synthetic compounds. You won't receive the generous dose of antioxidants that you need to heal your skin either.

The reason that antioxidants are important to you is that these nutrients are capable of eliminating free radicals. What free radicals do to your skin is cause excessive oxidation in the skin by stealing the electrons away from chemical structures. Antioxidants neutralize harmful free radicals by volunteering electrons, and therefore keeping oxidative damage to a minimum.

Along with supplying you with antioxidants, compounds like Phytessence Wakame kelp extract provides other nutrients that can tighten skin. This extract is rich in calcium, iron, potassium, sodium, and vitamins B1, B2, B3, B6, and B12. Phytessence Wakame kelp extract also has the proven ability to inhibit the destructive activity of the hyaluronidase enzyme, which is what breaks down hyaluronic acid.

Grape seed oil is also a potent source of nutrients, and it has a tissue and polymer preserving affect much like Phytessence Wakame. Grape seed oil takes things a step further however, and defends against the collagenase, elastase, AND hyaluronidase enzymes. This compound provides your skin with natural vitamin E, linoleic acid, and several other essential oils.

Protein complexes and enzyme are truly nutrients that can tighten skin, because certain combinations of these compounds increase collagen and elastin. There is a specific blend being sold under the name Cynergy TK, which is a part of a New Zealand skin care line. Cynergy TK significantly boosts the production of collagen and elastin, and leaves your skin looking firm and full.

These are just three examples of healthy, all natural compounds that provide you with nutrients that can tighten skin. There are many other natural substances out there that are useful in returning firmness and elasticity to the skin, and these were just the best ones I could think of. Try using a formula with Phytessence Wakame, grape seed oil, and Cynergy TK, and I'll bet you notice a remarkable difference in your skin.

Oily Skin Care Tips

Author: Angela Myers

The sebaceous glands, located in the dermis (middle layer) produces oil which helps to keep the skin supple and moist. So oil production in the skin is completely natural With that said, however, the sebaceous glands can produce excessive oil which leads to oily skin. Oily skin is not only located on the face but the neck, arms, shoulders and back can be oily too.

How Do You Know If You Have Oily Skin?

Nearly all teenagers have oily skin because their hormone production is in full bloom. For those who are no longer teenagers, determining whether your skin is oily or not is easy to do. When you look in the mirror is there a sheen on your skin? Check your T-Zone which is located starting at the point between your eyes and goes vertically down your nose to your chin. (The T-Zone also goes horizontally across your nose, beginning and stopping at the center point below your eye.) Your sheen may be unnoticeable during the day, so you want to check again immediately after waking in the morning. If there is a sheen, you probably have oily skin.

Look at your hair while standing in front of the mirror. If it is oily, this is another sign that you most likely have oily skin. If your make up fades and wears off after only a couple of hours, this is also an indicator of oily skin. In addition, frequently patting your face with a handkerchief or powder is another indicator. Although sometimes caused by stress and other factors, the presence of blemishes is also a sign of oily skin.

Caring for Oily Skin

You may feel that the best way to treat oily skin is to remove the oil that is clogging your pores. Removing all the oil is not the answer. The oils produced by your sebaceous glands are a natural moisturizer which helps to keep you skin supple and moist. So rather than removing the oil, you should try to keep it under control.

It's important that you keep your skin clean so that your pores remain clear. If not, dead cells, dirt and bacteria will clog your pores and cause pimples to pop up. DO NOT use harsh soaps to strip away oil. Your glands will instinctively replenish lost oil and will increase their oil production. This could make your problem worse.

Your skin is delicate so you should use a gentle cleanser and warm water. Weekly exfoliation with a non-abrasive product will help to remove pore clogging material. Use a toner that does not contain alcohol and moisturize in moderation. Make sure your cosmetics and sun screen are oil free.

Even If You're a Man, You Need Skin Care - The Benefits of Man Skin Care

Author: Amy Wells

It used to be that women had to look after their appearances and maintain the youthful glow of their facial skin if they wanted to attract a good man, settle down, and live happily ever after. In this outdated social climate, men had a free pass on anything related to beauty. They were almost expected to age faster and it was simply over looked. But, as the appearance of high quality male products continues in the skin care market, things are changing.

Not only are women more demanding when it comes to their man keeping himself young and handsome, but men are holding themselves to higher standards as well. Applying a facial cream and worrying over age lines, wrinkles, and acne is no longer "girly." Man skin care is becoming a given in our changing society.

The best skin care manufacturers are now developing man skin care products that are designed to keep men as handsome as the woman they are holding on their arm. Often, the only way to really tell the male skin care products apart from the woman's line is the color of the packaging.

This is because what a man's skin needs is not very different from a woman's. The skin is an organ of the body and just like a kidney or heart operates the same no matter which gender it is placed inside, the skin has the same basic needs as well.

There are some differences in the problems a man may experience with facial skin, but they are usually addressed with the same ingredients women use for their problems.

A good male care line will include products very similar in name to those found in a woman's line. They will even use the same basic active ingredients. The difference is often in how the product is applied.

For instance, a hydrating mask that is part of a man skin care line will not require him to walk around for a half hour with green goo smeared all over his skin. A mask designed as part of a male skin care line will only require them to rub it on and wait for it to naturally seep into their skin.

The best news is that men can now maintain their youth and the health of their skin just like a woman, but without the social stigma of being too feminine. For many people around the world, a man should just naturally take care of himself like a woman does. With those changing world views comes a growing number of man skin care products that are creating great excitement for men everywhere.

Spiders In Your Legs? Heres How To Get Rid Of Them

Author: Ismael Tabije

As I was searching for more information on varicose veins cure, I sat on the swivel chair in front of the PC in a relaxed but poised position: upright with my right leg over my left leg. What I thought of as a comfortable sitting position could have led me to get more of the unwanted varicose veins. The topmost DON'T in preventing and relieving varicose veins was: DON'T cross your legs when sitting. It was like touching a hot plate; I immediately uncrossed my legs and leaned forward to read more.  Other than not crossing the legs, here are some great preventive measures that you ought to know so as not to have those gory spider veins marring those pretty legs:  -  Regular exercise helps in the continuous flow of the blood. It is understandable that time is quite a problem. Choose an exercise activity that is not so time consuming, like walking a good distance will be great.  -  Watch your weight, a very heavy body gives burden to the legs that hold it upright.  -  If your job requires standing for a long period of time, shift your weight from one foot to the other time and again. If it is possible, always sit on breaks and relax tired feet.  - Elastic stockings can best support legs.  -  See to it that your clothes, even you underwear are comfortable and not too tight especially on the waist, groin and leg areas.  -  High-fiber foods can help prevent constipation that could also contribute to varicose veins. Eat as much fiber-filled foods as possible.  -  Salt can be a factor in swelling of the body. Reduce your salt intake.  -  Find time to exercise your legs even when sitting. It can help in the circulation of blood. A simple leg stretching and feet and ankle rotation can relieve soreness and can revive those veins.  -  Leg elevation at the end of the day is highly recommended. Prop your feet on a chair or on the wall at home when you watch TV or a few minutes before you go to sleep.  -  Long travels constrict and numb your legs and feet. If you can, get up and move about in your vehicle (for travels on buses, trains and airplanes) or pull over every 30 minutes when traveling in a car to relax and stretch your legs.  -  Choose an aisle seat or the one nearest an exit door when attending long conferences and meetings. This way, you can easily go out and stretch every fifteen to thirty minutes to avoid cramps. Researchers show that women are not the only victims of varicose veins. In fact, recent studies show that a large percentage of men also get varicose veins. Varicose veins are brought about by a lot of things from being overweight to genetics to aging. Most factors that contribute to acquiring varicose veins are the work (especially if it includes long periods of standing up), pregnancy, stomach disorders such as constipation; and then there's improper posture.  As always, the adage that prevention is better than cure is very true. Although major treatments and operations are not exactly needed in curing varicose veins, the pain could be uncomfortable, not to mention unsightly especially for a woman. There are dermatological ways to remove varicose veins but, if you can help it, prevent it from appearing on your body parts by doing the self-help tips that are stated above.

Prevent Scars, Discoloration and That "Done" Look

Author: Cynthia Rowland

Just recently a Hollywood celeb had face work done.  She admits that she spent $50,000 on Botox, Restylane, laser treatments, hair extensions and dental work to reinvent herself.

She loves her new look and she claims that her outside now matches the inside but unfortunately this celeb no longer looks like her former self. The voice is the same and even if you squint, you do not see her former beauty or youthfulness.

So many women can feel young on the inside but when they look at their reflection peering back at them in the mirror, a lot of them recoil in horror as they witness the very visible signs of aging like hooded eyes, soft, spongy cheeks, sagging double chins and jowls along the jaw.

Maybe their first line of thinking is surgery and injections simply because they do not know that there are safe, natural therapies that can do the exact same thing and often fix the real problems of aging sagging facial muscles.

Is aging just a fact of life? Is there really a Fountain of Youth? Yes, but it's not an elixir or a potion.

Vitamins and minerals work to keep our insides younger and healthier but it's the outside that people see.

Maybe you are curious about the anti-aging vitamins, nutrients and supplements that will help you stay younger on the inside - here is a list of them that are recommended by anti-aging specialists: vitamins B1, B3 (niacin), B6, B12, C, D, E, folic acid, beta-carotene, CoQ10, rutin, bioflavonoids, ginko biloba, ginseng, green tea extract, ginger root extract, garlic, L-Glutathione, magnesium, selenium, potassium, manganese, chromium picolinate, acetyl L-carnitine, melatonin, alpha-lipoic acid, N-acetyl cysteine, acetylsalicylic acid, cod liver oil, and flax seed oil.

Using supplements and vitamins can fix what's going on inside our bodies but what about our faces? Where is the Fountain of Youth for that?

Jackie Silver, author of Aging Backwards: Secrets to Staying Young, says that exercise is indeed the Fountain of Youth. Many anti-aging physicians agree with her because they have seen how exercise can strengthen the heart and lungs as well as the core muscles in our bodies. Most surprising is that exercise can also tighten, strengthen and lift sagging facial muscles, the main reason our faces look old and tired.

Anti-aging diets play an important part in our facial beauty, too. Some foods cause inflammation and swelling; they can contribute to heart disease, arthritis and more; they should be avoided if optimal health is your goal.

What are some of those culprits that show up as aging in our faces? Alcohol, beef, bread, pasta, sugar and sugary treats, noodles, rice, soft drinks and even some fruits can have a detrimental effect on our facial appearance. So what's best to eat for optimal health? Super-sized portions of vegetables, protein from fish and chicken, lots of purified water, nuts and green tea are recommended by many anti-aging specialists.

Unfortunately, ingesting supplements, eating a better balanced diet and using topical beauty essential products with the latest and greatest ingredients will not stop the look of old produced by sagging facial muscles.

What will? Just like exercise works for toning your torso, arms and legs, the same type of resistance training will work for your face to tone and tighten those droopy, out of shape facial muscles. The daily activity of smiling, yawning, singing, yelling at your kids or your husband does nothing to adequately exercise those tiny, hidden muscles.

Choosing facial exercise to address sagging muscles means you will not have to worry about scars, injection holes, risky procedures and people recognizing you. After all, when you change your face to reflect your inner goddess, you want to feel proud that you look and feel so remarkably refreshed and revitalized.

It's when you apply the principles of resistance and contraction with special anchoring techniques that you begin to see positive changes. Anchoring (holding) the muscle while creating a contraction will cause those muscles to respond by repositioning and plumping. When this occurs, the facial skin takes on a new appearance because it immediately begins to look smooth, lifted and tightened.

Using your thumbs and fingers to anchor these muscles will assure better results. If there are no anchoring techniques, most likely you are using an out-dated method. Puckers, twists, contortions and squints do nothing to retrain the muscles to hold a new position; in fact, you might create more wrinkles when you repeatedly scrunch and contort your face.

You won't have to spend a lot of money or time recuperating because daily your face will reflect the benefits of an all natural face lift that will keep you looking substantially younger and more like yourself than those who opt for risky physical refreshments via a scalpel, laser or needle.

The Anxiety of Alopecia Areata

 Author: Carol P. Mason

Alopecia areata is a hair loss condition which usually affects the scalp. This type of alopecia affects both males and females. It affects nearly two percent of Americans of both sexes and of all ages and ethnic backgrounds. It is considered an autoimmune disease, therefore the immune system, which is designed to protect the body from foreign invaders such as viruses and bacteria, mistakenly attacks the hair follicles, the tiny cup-shaped structures from which hairs grow. Alopecia areata is not a life-threatening disease, but it can have psychological effects on those who have it. Alopecia research ranges from the most basic studies of the mechanisms of hair growth and hair loss in mice to testing medications and ways to apply medications to help re-grow hair in people. Any advances are sure to be appreciated by those who suffer with this hair loss condition.

The Disease

The most common type of alopecia areata involves hair loss in one or more round spots on the scalp. Alopecia areata monolocularis describes baldness in only one spot. There is also a form of more generalized thinning of hair referred to as diffuse alopecia areata throughout the scalp. With male pattern alopecia, hair loss is gradual and usually affects the thinner, shorter, and less pigmented hairs of the frontal and parietal portions. Women may experience this same disorder, called androgenetic alopecia, characterized by diffuse thinning over the top of the scalp. Androgenetic alopecia affects approximately 50% of the male population and a smaller portion of the female population. Sometimes, this disease occurs within family members, suggesting a role of genes and heredity.

Possible Treatments

What is the most effective treatment for this condition? There are several different treatment options for alopecia areata. About 50% of patients' hair will re grow in one year without any treatment. However, many people suffer for longer or want instant help. Most doctors feel the dangers of any heavyweight drugs so far suggested outweigh its benefits. Although there is neither a permanent cure for alopecia areata nor safe drugs approved for its treatment, some people find that medications approved for other purposes can help hair grow back, at least temporarily. Topical corticosteroids frequently fail to enter the skin deeply enough to affect the hair bulbs, which are the treatment target, but the new low level laser therapy seems to be able to stimulate the hair follicles into action.. As with any therapy, it is best to discuss these treatments with your doctor before you try them. Both the National Institutes of Health and the National Alopecia Areata Foundation support research into the disease and its treatment. By studying how hair follicles form in mouse embryos, researchers hope to gain a better understanding of hair cycle biology that may lead to treatments for the underlying disease process.

Healthy Hair

With healthy hair, hair should only fall out when it is in its dormant cycle. Hair follicles go dormant at different times all over the scalp on a healthy head, so we see no bare patches, and hunks of hair do not come out at once. Thinning, balding or situational alopecia are not contagious, and people who have the disease are generally healthy otherwise.

There is Hope

Living with hair loss can be hard, especially in a culture that views hair as a sign of youth and good health. Even so, most people with alopecia areata are well-adjusted, contented people living full lives. Many people learning to cope find it helpful to talk with other people who are dealing with the same problems, as sometimes people with alopecia may find it difficult to meet or date others due to social phobia. Any choice for treatment options depends on the person's age and the extent of their alopecia activity. Natural supplements, herbs, scalp preparations, laser light therapies using a laser brush all can help the situation, and give one hope of having a healthy scalp and full head of hair again.

Comfortable Summer Hairstyles for Women

Author: Arianna Jordan

Summer is the perfect season to spend relaxing and having a good time as often as possible. It is a great way to relive some of lifes daily stresses by enjoying the weather whenever you can get away from work or household demands.

Do not waste hours of your summer days and night getting ready with hot curlers in your hair, or having to fuss with messy hairstyling solutions. Many women achieve flawless summer looks without having to work hard or miss out by taking to much time getting ready. By opting for comfortable summer hairstyles that not only look good, but give off the impression that you spent a lot of time getting ready, you will be happy to enjoy the summer with a fast and easy, style-and-go hair-do.

A hair-do that is gaining popularity this summer is the bob. Whether you are sporting a short or longer bob, this look is both comfortable and easy for women in the summer. Give yourself a break from hot curlers and curling irons this summer with this cute and sassy hairstyle. This hairstyle works beautifully with many different hair types and facial structures, and is also an appropriate hairstyle for women of all ages.

If you have medium length to long hair, you will be happy to know that the ponytail is still an extremely popular look for summer this year. Aside from a bob hairstyle, you cannot choose a much simpler way to style your hair than with a ponytail. With the wide assortment of colorful ponytail holders and hair tiebacks made out of different and unique materials, it is great to keep that fun, flirty look with your hair. Some hair bands can be covered with eye-catching gems that help you create several stunning looks without much effort at all.

Another trendy hairstyle for this summer is the fringe cut hairstyle. The fringe is an easy style-and-go choice that is popular with many women who want to let their personality run free. This somewhat feisty haircut is extremely easy to manage and maintain. Spend less time styling your hair and more time enjoying summer activities with this do.

Farrah Fawcett was one of the original women to make the layered and feathered back look famous. She single-handedly influenced millions of women in the 70s to sport her unique hairstyle. This hairstyle remains a popular choice with many women to this day. The layered hair looks great any time of the year, but many women prefer this easy and care-free look during the summer months. This layered look is a simple way to achieve and maintain all summer long.

Another well-liked hairstyle among women during the summer is the crop. This is a great look for women who prefer not to spend much time on their hair at all. A broken-edged crop can make for a dramatic look for most women, and is fairly easy to handle. This is different from a straight-edged crop, as a broken-edged cut follows the contours of your hair, which naturally varies at different points. This creates texturing that is unique to your hair and lends a very lovely style to your locks.

Different haircuts are not the only hot trends for women in the summer of 2009. Many women are embracing color, as it has always been important in hairstyles choices. This summer, strawberry blonde, auburn, and rich chocolates tend to be the trend setting colors of the season.

If you want to know what summer hairstyles are hot with celebrities, look through celebrity and fashion magazines to find out who is wearing what trendy hairstyle this summer. There are also many magazines devoted to highlighting trendy hairstyles for women that can give you some great insights and tips on the summer hairstyle that is just right for you.

Consulting with your hairstylist is a great way to get more ideas on fashionable summer hairstyles. Tell your hairstylist that you want a style that looks great but that is easy to maintain, so that you can spend less time in front of the mirror and more time out enjoying yourself this summer. You can also look through a salons magazines on hairstyles to get ideas the next time you are in a hair salon.

Some of the summer hairstyle choices for women may be new to you, and you may be a little apprehensive about taking the plunge to re-inventing yourself. By summers end, your hair will have begun to grow out and you can go back to your old hairstyle if you wish. Be bold and take a risk on a cute and fun new hairstyle this summer.

How to Tell if You Need a Cut

Author:  Jenny Andrews Sure, your stylist tells you to return for a trim every 6 to 8 weeks, but who actually keeps that timetable? I mean, life is just too busy to keep regular appointments these days. And many people can get by much longer than 6 weeks without a haircut. So, how can you tell when it is time to get a cut?  For many styles, like short and textured cuts, regular haircuts are a must or your style just looks ragged. For others, such as long and sleek cuts, you can get by without a cut for a few months without noticing any change in your style. The key then to knowing when it is time to get a cut lies in knowing your hair inside and out.  It is fairly easy to tell when short cuts need to be revived. It becomes almost impossible to style your hair the way that you like it and it takes more and more spray to keep your style in place. Many people will also experience a style that goes flat halfway through the day due to the extra length pulling their style out.  But when it comes to longer styles, the line of when it is time to get a cut often gets blurred, especially if you don't do much styling. For these types of styles, you should look for the following clues to know when it is time to get a cut:   Overall frizzy, dry or dull appearance
Frayed ends or ends with white colored or burnt tips
Feeling of roughness close to the ends of the hair
Change in color on the ends of hair
Inability of hair to hold curl
Loss of shape or style of cut  In most cases, the appearance of your hair and style will have you headed to the salon before much damage occurs. That way your stylist can get rid of the split ends. But there are those few that let their hair go without a cut for months and maybe even years. When these clients come into the salon, sometimes the only thing to do to get their hair back into shape is take off several inches. So, if you have long hair and want to keep it healthy and long, be sure to take your hair seriously when it tells you that it is time for a cut.

Embracing Your Natural Beauty

Author: Siobhan Gamble

As unique individuals of a similar species, we are all born with qualities that distinctively distinguish us from one another. There are many congenital factors which contribute to our originality such as culture, customs, environment, and genetics. With that being said, our physical characteristics contribute to painting the world in its beautiful colors, adding texture and zest to what would otherwise be a bland, featureless world. Skin tones can range in color from pink, yellow, olive, golden, bronze, to many different shades of brown. Hair color varies in shades of blond, brown, red, silver, and black; sometimes all of these colors can even be found on one single head. The windows to our souls are also tinted in an array of colors that can fall between blue, green, brown and gray. In addition to these colorful features, our skin and hair are again broken down into different types. Some of us are very pleased with the intricate combination that we were born with, while others are not; instead, choosing to embrace society's standards.

As many of us know, today's world consists of plastic surgery, color contact lenses, skin bleachers, nail tips, perms, hair extensions, weaves, and everything else that can be altered in order to sketch a smile on the face of what our mind considers to be beautiful. Let us take a look at the definition of beautiful.

Beautiful (adj. ):  Having qualities that delight the senses, especially the sense of sight.

Does this definition insinuate that unless you are naturally born with qualities that delight society's sense of sight, you must modify your appearance in order to be accepted as beautiful?

It is appalling to even imagine this to be true; but by just taking a look around us, how could we say it is not? It may seem as if certain cultures target particular fixations; again, this may be due to certain genetic make-ups in which society has labeled as less than acceptable. Of course all ethnicities tamper with all available altering options, it is observed that while more Caucasian groups desire plastic surgery, more African Americans lean towards wanting straighter hair, but both desperately go through equally drastic measures to attain self satisfaction.

As many of us know, for the longest time in today's world, straight hair has been the norm. With an exception of the 70's, many African- Americans did not know how to appreciate natural pattern and beauty of their hair. Even children who have never had a complex and appreciated their hair was taught that straight hair was "good hair" and that hair that was not straighten was "nappy" and "unkempt". For years now, we have depended on the straightening comb and chemical processing to get the hair to "be good" or "be tamed" so that it could be easier to comb and manage.

The cold reality of managing "good hair" is that people pay to have it damaged. What person in their right mind would pay for that, right? Well, that is just the thing they obviously aren't in their right mind. Whatever happened to our Higher Being and appreciating the way He created us? People in their right mind would think about how special He created each of us, down to the hair that grows from our scalps. Despite its texture and pattern, it is healthy hair; no different than the person's hair that grows from their scalp straight. Do they go through the dreadful process of paying someone to make their hair "good"? Straight does not make hair good. What makes it good is that it's healthy and it's yours. If the whole process is thought about long and hard enough, questions of self worth and acceptance should undoubtedly surface. What then makes African-American hair bad? Is it fear that someone caught wearing their naturally textured hair will be seen as bad or shameful?

As more and more African-Americans have been embracing their natural hair, what they find is not nappy, kinky, or even coarse hair. It actually has a beautiful, medium to fine texture ranging from millions of medium to small curls. They eventually discover that the "kinky" or "nappy" hair that they thought they had, came from trying so hard to make their hair something it was not. It is sad how many people resort to doing things solely to fit into the norm. Whether it is your hair, nose, breasts, stomach or thighs you want to change; just as a person can discover their hair is naturally beautiful, you can soon discover that everything about you is naturally beautiful and does not need changing. True beauty is ONLY defined through the eyes of the beholder. Once you learn to recognize your beauty naturally, so will everyone else. Beauty is always there, but it takes wisdom to truly embrace.

Dry Hair And Split Ends

 Author: Sharon Hopkins

Using any amount of hot air will cause your hair to dry out. Dry weather and blow drying will strip the hair of its moisture. Shampooing frequently and swimming in chlorinated pools will lead to dry hair and split ends. Hair dyes, electric curlers and permanents cause hair to dry out and have split ends.

To avoid split ends, follow the following tips and keep your hair glossy:

Use mayonnaise: Use a dollop of mayonnaise on the palm of the hand and massage it to the head and leave it on for five minutes before having the bath. The recommended time for the mayonnaise treatment is an hour.

Spray the beer: If you do not get any respite from using the mayonnaise, you can use beer as a good setting lotion that gives your hair the crisp, healthy and shiny look. You can pour some beer into an empty pump bottle and spray on the hair after shampooing and towel dry. Then you can style or blow-dry the hair.

Shampoo minimally: Though it has become fashionable to shampoo daily, it is not advisable to do so. Shampoo strips the hair of its natural oils and thus gives it a dry, limp appearance. Alternatively, choose a shampoo for dry, damaged hair.

Condition your hair: Dry hair can be benefited greatly by the use of conditioners after shampooing. The outer layers of the hair or cuticles peel away the shaft, resulting in split ends. Conditioner glues these cuticles back to the shaft and lubricates them. It also prevents static electricity, thus preventing its frizzy appearance.

Avoid heat: Heat appliances like blow-dryers, electric irons and curlers damage the hair. Instead of blow-drying the hair, you can pat dry with a towel. Replace electric curlers with unheated plastic rollers that were used in a bygone era. Straighten the hair by wrapping the slightly damp hair around the cold rollers and leave them on for about ten minutes. To curl the hair or to give them a wavy appearance, use sponge rollers overnight or sleep with moist braids.

Cover your head: Wearing a hat during windy days is the safest way to protect the hair from drying out. This way, you will also protect your hair from drying out by the sun. Cut off the split ends: Every six weeks or so, try cutting off the split ends to keep them under control.

Skin Care Reviews Need to Be More Truthful in Advertising

Author:  Laurel Levine

Most of the anti aging skin care reviews that you see leave a lot to the imagination so far as what you are really getting in these formulas. The cosmetics companies, internet sites, and magazines typically attempt to evoke a warm, fuzzy feeling when covering various formulas. They only want to highlight the good things about the formula, which I guess is just good business on their part.

The cosmetics companies make their money from convincing you to buy their products. Media such as websites and magazines have an interest in helping the cosmetics companies make as much money as they can, because the advertising dollars the cosmetics companies provide are what keeps these information sources going. No matter who is providing you with the information, it is likely to be skewed.

Skin care reviews will typically glorify the ingredients that the formulas from the major cosmetics companies contain, but more often than not these ingredients are not all that they've been made out to be. The compounds that these formulas feature are often not even naturally occurring, but are manmade in a laboratory. Not all manmade ingredients are bad for you, but most of them are.

For instance, there is a company that has developed an incredibly effective wrinkle reducing compound by extracting zinc and copper protein complexes, keratin proteins, and enzymes, and fusing them all together. This manmade compound has proven to dramatically increase your collagen and elastin production. This ingredient was put together in a laboratory of course, but the ingredients are all natural.

What most anti aging skin care reviews fail to mention is that a great many of the manmade compounds present in cosmetics formulas are developed by mixing chemicals together. These synthetic compounds will provide you with little of the antioxidants, vitamins, and other essential nutrients you need for creating younger looking skin. They can actually be quite dangerous to tell you the truth.

The chemical agents that the cosmetics companies typically use to create their anti aging formulas have in many cases been linked to the development of various forms of cancer, or have been discovered toxic to humans. Products that feature chemically developed ingredients offer no real benefit, but can be potentially detrimental to your health. You need to take care to investigate your products to see what they really contain.

By double checking the facts given in anti aging skin care reviews, you can save yourself a lot of trouble. What you should be using on your skin are the all natural products that contain the collagen and elastin producer I spoke of earlier. Aside from CYNERGY TK with Functional Keratin, these formulas also provide you with a kelp extract that will put a stop to the degradation of your hyaluronic acid.

Forget about what the anti aging skin care reviews tell you, because the formulas that provide CYNERGY TK and Phytessence Wakame kelp extract will give you everything you need for achieving healthier, younger looking skin. Once you check out these products, you will see that everything I am telling you is true.

Black Skin & African American Skin Care Products-What To Use for Beautiful Skin

Author:  Margaret Bell

African American and Black Skin Products must have the right ingredients to really work. Some ingredients should be avoided for black skin or any other type of skin.

In this article I will show you which ones work and which ones to avoid. Some ingredients, for example, will cause hyper pigmentation while others will cause de-pigmentation. Here is what you should avoid and what you should use.

Avoid These 3 Ingredients in Skin Care Products

1. Sodium methyl paraben (any type paraben)
2. Petroleum-based products
3. Chemical bleaching agents

*Sodium methyl paraben - One ingredient that is commonly found in skin care lines is sodium methyl paraben. It, as well as, all parabens have been found in breast cancer patients. It is best to not use any product containing parabens. Sodium methyl paraben can result in de-pigmentation that may be permanent.

Products with petroleum content also can cause hyper pigmentation. Dark spots may appear that do not match other skin tone. Also propylene glycol and wood-based alcohols have been known to cause darker spots to appear on the skin. The reason often stated why these ingredients are in black skin care products is that they relieve oiliness. However, the products most people are using cause the oiliness. Petrolatum, mineral oil and other products that are petroleum-based CAUSE the oiliness.

Chemical bleaching agents are often promoted to those who want to lighten their skin tone. There are safe skin lightening products. I'll cover that also in a moment. Chemical bleaching ingredients can bring much harm to your skin. Avoid them especially if you have black skin or darker tones of skin.

Compounds That Work Safely
- Extra pone nut grass
- CoQ10
- Jojoba
- Natural vitamin E
- Functional keratin
- Wakame kelp

Extra-pone nut grass is a very good ingredient that will even out the skin tone. It usually doesn't take much to give a noticeable difference.

Natural vitamin E is an antioxidant. Since it is an antioxidant it will usually help get rid of hyperpigmentation of skin. In other words, skin spots.

Sebum - The Natural Moisturizer

Sebum is our natural skin oil that also is our natural skin moisturizer. However, some of us have either too dry skin or too oily or some range in between. So skin problems can vary from one person to the next. But skin problems in general have nothing to do with black skin or any other tone. Skin is skin. Only the skin tone maybe different, but all skin is composed the same. What the problem usually is, is the product being used on the skin. Especially if it is petroleum based. Petrolatum feels good but it can do a lot of subtle harm. If you use a good moisturizer, like the one I use, you will have 90% of your skin problems solved.

Sebum is produced by the sebaceous glands. All skin, black, white etc have these glands. Sebum is the skin's natural moisturizer. Jojoba and passion fruit extract work well with the sebaceous glands. These two ingredients will help moisturize skin that is very dry. What is nice about them they will moisturize the skin without causing any skin flareups.

Anti Aging Ingredients

Most anti aging products don't even come close to working. Companies take advantage of the popularity of anti aging and promote skin care products that do more harm than anything else.

You don't need any special african american anti aging product. Let me tell what you do need.

In my vast searching for some skin care products that really work I found one that I am ecstatic about. The reason is that it is safe and it works on all skin types and skin tones. It is called "Functional Keratin". When mixed with Wakame Seaweed (Japanese) CoQ10 and Vitamin E it produces new skin cells and fibers. This results in a younger looking skin because of the skin firmness that is taking place. See my website for more information on this truly amazing skin care ingredient.

Functional Keratin is the most successful and effective of all the antiaging products I researched. Functional keratin combined with Wakame kelp extract and antioxidants CoQ10 and natural vitamin E promotes the increase of new skin fibers and skin cells. Wakame helps prevent sagging by increasing skin firmness.

What causes harm to skin cells and other body cells is what is called free radicals. They basically go on a rampage and hurt other cells. The antidote is antioxidants found in compounds like vitamin E. Remember this please, avoid any ingredient ending in paraben, (for black skin especially Sodium methyl paraben). Avoid all skin care and other products that list petrolatum as an ingredient. Don't even think about using a chemical bleaching agent.

Anti Aging Skin Care Products - What Specific Ingredients Are Proven To Reverse The Causes Of Aging?

Author: Laurel Levine

Let's face it. In order for you to accomplish all of your skin care goals, you need natural anti aging skin care products developed with specific ingredients proven to reverse the actual causes of aging. I say this, because although it may seem obvious that repairing the issues that cause wrinkles is the answer to all of your problems, most cosmetics do not feature the ingredients necessary to do the work that you need.

The majority of the wrinkle reducing formulas that are on the market are designed to simply mask the wrinkles in your skin, and not to actually do anything productive about them. These products offer little more than the temporary fix offered by astringents, or compounds that bind water to the surface of the skin in order to make it look smoother. These compounds are not a solution.

These same products are usually developed using mostly synthetic compounds, which offer little reward compared to the ingredients found in all natural anti aging skin care products. Natural ingredients provide you with the answer to eliminating the free radicals in your skin, repairing wrinkle producing oxidative damage, and supply your skin with vital nutrients. Synthetics don't provide nearly what natural compounds do.

When I say that formulas typically try and mask the symptoms of aging instead of repairing what causes the skin to wrinkle many people would say, "What about the formulas that let you absorb collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid through your skin?" I have some bad news for all of the folks that depend on these products in order to make their skin look younger.

The anti aging skin care products that feature these supposedly effective anti wrinkle compounds as a way to smooth their skin are the very formulas that I have been referring too. Hyaluronic acid is the compound I mentioned that binds water to the skin to make it look smoother and plumper for the day. This is the only effect that hyaluronic acid has, since it is incapable of penetrating the skin.

Hyaluronic acid loss can be attributed to enzymes in the skin that attack this polymer around the clock, causing it to break down. Production is not a problem here as it is with collagen and elastin, so the answer is simply to inhibit the destructive activity of the enzymes causing the polymer to degrade. This can be accomplished with treatments that contain Phytessence Wakame kelp extract.

Since collagen and elastin are also too molecularly dense for penetration into the skin to be possible, you need anti aging skin care products that feature compounds capable of boosting tissue production. Nothing has been found more effective in increasing collagen and elastin production that a fusion of enzymes and zinc and copper keratin protein complexes called Cynergy TK.

Lucky for you, there is an all natural line of anti aging skin care products that contain the combination of Cynergy TK, and Phytessence Wakame. These formulas are developed and manufactured by a company in New Zealand, and they are quickly becoming known as the only topical formulas that offer an honest solution to what causes your skin to wrinkle.
