Smooth Skin Remedies - Don't Get Caught Up in the Search!

Author: Laurel Levine

Let's face it. People all over the world spend billions of dollars per year in the pursuit of effective smooth skin remedies, and have you ever wondered exactly how much you have spent altogether? Most people are too caught up in the search for an effective anti aging product to pay any attention to how much money they have invested. Very few people can look back and feel their money was well spent, no matter what the figure.

There are simply very few products on the market that are worth spending time and money on, because most of the products out there don't contain what it is you need. The cosmetic companies are notoriously cheap when it comes to acquiring compounds to develop their formulas, and it shows in the performance of these products. You are not going to have any luck with low quality cosmetics.

The primary reason that all of the smooth skin remedies fail to give you noticeable, lasting results, is that there is virtually nothing all natural in them. The collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid that many anti aging formulas provide do come from deceased commercial livestock, so they are naturally occurring. Very little else that comes along with these compound is not manmade.

Nothing good comes from the use of chemically created compounds in skin care formulas. These manmade compounds do not provide your skin with the essential nutrients that are necessary for achieving maximum health, or the antioxidants needed to reverse some degree of skin aging. Most of the chemical compounds used to develop wrinkle reducing formulas are toxic or carcinogenic, and can pose a serious threat to your health over time.

Going back to the inclusion of livestock obtained tissues and polymers in most smooth skin remedies, it is little wonder that people fail to see the results they expected. The cosmetic companies have touted these compounds as the answer to replenishing your collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid lost due to enzyme activity, and due to the steady decline in collagen and elastin production. These substances will do nothing for your skin however.

It would seem as though the inclusion of these compounds in an anti aging formula would be the most sensible solution to achieving firmer skin, but applying these compounds topically is a waste of time. The molecular density of each of the three substances prevents the skin from being able to absorb them. The best way to replenish your tissues is to simply create your own.

The most effective smooth skin remedies will feature ingredients like Cynergy TK, and Nano-Lipobelle H-EQ10. The proteins and enzymes in Cynergy TK, and the nano-emulsified coenzyme Q10 that makes up Nano-Lipobelle stimulate dramatic increases in the creation of new collagen and elastin. Grape seed oil and Phytessence Wakame sea kelp extract keep these tissues from being destroyed by enzymes.

Make no mistake about it. Only certain substances in smooth skin remedies will help you achieve the younger looking skin you are after. Choose wisely when you buy your products, and you will find the success you are after.

Finding the Best Adult Acne Home Treatment

Author:  Jeyanth Watson

For the adult who is plagued with acne finding a home treatment that works can be worth its weight in gold. For most people acne is something they leave behind after their teenage years but for many adults it hangs around for years and years and years. It becomes a never ending battle that starts every morning when they look in the mirror.

Everyone has to deal with acne at some point in their life. In fact 80 percent of people in the 11 to 30 year age bracket will be affected by acne at some point in their life. After 30 most people see their acne begin to disappear but many people still suffer its less than appealing affects well into their 40s and 50s.

When it comes to treating acne sometimes the best thing that you can do is controlling some of the things that are more likely to cause outbreaks in the first place. That doesn't meant that this will always work but prevention is a good starting point when it comes to an acne home treatment .

Hormones are one of the primary causes of acne outbreaks. This is why teens can have such problems with pimples and blemishes during puberty. It can also affect women during their monthly menstrual cycle or during pregnancy. Many women take birth control pills to help smooth out their hormonal fluctuations and control their outbreaks.

-  Tight and restrictive clothing, helmet, hats or anything else that keeps the skin from breathing can cause acne.

-  Stress can cause hormone levels to fluctuate leading to outbreaks. Learning how to de-stress can do wonders for the skin.

-  Pollution and high humidity can clog pores and create ideal conditions for acne.

-  Squeezing and popping pimples can actually make the condition worse. As much fun as popping zits can be it is best to let the body do its thing and clear up the acne naturally. Squeezing them can also lead to scarring which can be hard to get rid of.

-  Use oil free cosmetics and skin products. Pick products that are noncomedogenic which means they will not clog pores.

-  When cleaning your skin, particularly your face, use a mild cleanser twice a day. Do not scrub your skin, gently apply the cleanser and wash it away with a wash cloth. Scrubbing harshly can worsen the outbreaks and lead to scarring. Do not us an astringent except on very oily spots as well.

-  Avoid too much sun exposure. A tan does not make pimples go away, it just merely hides them. The long term risks of sun exposure outweigh any benefit it may have for an acne condition.

-  Eat a healthy diet. This is more for the fact that a healthy diet gives your body the nutrients it needs to function at its optimum level. There is little evidence that eating chocolate or fatty foods contributes to outbreaks of acne, but a healthy diet makes a healthy body.

The idea behind an adult acne home treatment is about taking care of your skin. By following these guidelines and using common sense in your skin care there is a good chance that most of your acne problem will disappear in a relatively short amount of time.

Learn Your Skin Care Facts

Author:  Olivia Hyde

Maintaining a healthy skin is important in today's image-conscious society. So how do you go about it?  Skin is the largest organ in our body and the body's first layer of protection against the environment. Besides good skin is the most important ingredient in physical beauty. Ask the supermodels if you don't think so!  All this makes proper skin care very important for a human being. Every day our environment inflicts a lot of damage on the skin -- from exposure to pollutants, sunlight, ultra violet rays, etc. And we add to that by using skin care products that are not very skin-friendly, through our ignorance.  Choosing the best skin care product should be a very important part of your skin care routine. This is easier said that done. There is no lack of skin care products in the market shelves though having a good skin is still a distant dream for many. Choosing the right skin care product from all those colorful products vying for your attention on the supermarket shelves is often a very difficult task. The flashy ads in magazines and billboards of supermodels endorsing various brands of skin care products isn't of much help either when you are trying to choose the best skin care product for you. What is the ideal skin care routine? A healthy and glowing skin is the desired product of any skin care regime.  The first step towards healthy skin is a clean skin. Any skin care routine starts with a cleansing process. Washing your face after you've been out is important, as facial skin is most exposed to the dust and grime in the atmosphere. But do not over do it, as excessive use of soap and other cleansers may lead to the secretion of excess oil and cause eruptions or lesions on your face. This is especially so if you have oily skin. Drinking plenty of water daily is good for your skin as it helps get rid of toxins in the body. A balanced diet with the right servings of fruits and vegetables is also essential for maintaining a healthy skin.  Acne is the most common skin care problem affecting people, especially teenagers. The medical name for this condition is Acne vulgaris. Acne is a skin condition that occurs when the dead skin cells and the oil clogs the skin pores. Usually acne is seen to fade in the late 20s but some people, mostly women, face this problem even in the 40s and 50s.  The main cause of acne is the hormonal changes. Especially in teenagers, the sebaceous glands become overactive and secrete excess oil, which then blocks the pores in the skin. This, in turn, leads to inflammation and redness of the skin causing acne. The majority of those affected by acne only experience it in a mild form, but severe acne could lead to emotional and physical scarring.  Poor hygiene or increased stress levels are not, as is popularly believed, the cause of acne, though they may aggravate the problem. There are now excellent treatments available to treat acne and produce the desired results. Physicians treat acne based on the patient's skin characteristics and nature of lesions.  For proper skin care it is important that one understands one's skin type. There are mainly three skin types: dry, oily, and normal skin. When you choose skin care products, keep in mind that they should be chosen depending on your skin type. Remember, first impression is always the best impression. And your skin plays a very important role in how others perceive you.

Tips for Women Over 50 Who Want to Look 10 Years Younger

Author:  Dale Kathryn Grove

Women over 50 can appear at least 10 years younger than they are and are in position to capitalize on their experience and vitality. Why would you want to look and feel younger than you are? It could be vanity, maybe a personal challenge to increase your fitness level, maybe just better health and maybe because you are back on the market as a newly single woman.

Most women will be single for a good portion of their later years. Women who date younger men are referred to as cougars however men have been dating younger women since time began and there is no corresponding term for them. Women should be able to choose who they want to date, and what they want out of life without being referred to in a derogatory way.

I find it interesting that some women in their 50s when approached about starting a skin care routine or using makeup say, I'm too old to start now. At 50, we have in most cases at least another 30 years of life left. We are at an age where we have experience, education, money and often, an empty nest. It's time to really embrace everything life has to offer and do the things we have always put aside because our focus has been on raising a family and working.

Did you know that women, who wear makeup, on average, earn 12% more than women who don't? When you look good, you feel good and that in turn improves your attitude. I suspect that looking your best improves confidence, which in turn would lead to better on-the-job performance. Purchase a good skin care routine that includes anti-aging products and use it daily. In most cases a quality fragrance-free skin treatment program is safe for even sensitive skin. If you rarely wear color cosmetics take the time to find some that you will be comfortable with. Makeup, that is subtle, will enhance your best features and will make you stand out as someone who cares about their appearance. If you already use color cosmetics you are ahead of the game.

Allot some time in your day to exercise and stretch. Many women these days are active physically and have better health than previous generations. If they do not have a gym membership there are many activities that can tone and firm their physiques while being fun; inline skating, tennis, rock climbing, yoga. I was shocked recently when I took my grandson bowling that it is great activity to firm the gluts and arms.

Clothing choices, in a large way, determine how people see you however it is not necessary to spend lot of money to look good. Reading about clothing trends helps you choose clothing that is fashionable and appropriate for your lifestyle. Whether it is for pleasure or work, choose separates that allow you to mix and match using a couple of basic colors with a few accent colors thrown in. If everything in your closet co-ordinates, dressing in the morning is easy. That will eliminate the I have nothing to wear syndrome.

Take time for yourself! By deciding to take charge of your appearance, fitness, health, and attitude you open doors that you may have thought closed for you.

A Step-by-Step Guide to Proper Face Cleansing

 Author:  Simon Jones

Acne is caused by overactive hormones which signal glands to produce too much oil (Sebum). The oil cannot be secreted quickly enough and eventually combines with dead skin cells and bacteria to clog up our pores. An outbreak of acne is the result of this accumulated mess. Acne affects every part of your life when you get a moderate or severe outbreak. But you don't have to continue living this way . . . You can STOP ACNE and get the clean and clear complexion you've always wanted!

Beautiful skin is something we all want. A clean and clear complexion is attractive and just sends out a message that we're healthy and that we look after ourselves with care and attention. But it feels so unfair that acne has nothing to do with how healthy we are, or how carefully we look after our skin! The fact is that acne is the result of overactive hormones. Throughout time, the onset of puberty and the natural changes in the adolescent body mean that hormonal changes are occurring. Women are also regularly subjected to increased hormonal activity until the age of menopause.

But it is now well-known that our environment has had a huge impact on us - our size, weight, growth and aging patterns, fertility and general health are all affected by the amount of pollution and quality of air we breathe, by the amount of UV rays from the sun, by the food we eat and by the water we drink and bathe in. And today's environment has created such horrific hormonal imbalances that our bodies struggle just to keep working at 100% efficiency. The level of hormones in our bodies is mostly responsible for causing the glands to produce an excess of oil. Eventually, this combines with the uneven shedding of dead skin cells and ends up clogging our pores. When our pores get clogged, this causes blackheads and whiteheads, which can stay clogged up in our pores for years and years. More serious acne problems, like pimples, nodules and cysts form when bacteria becomes part of the mix.

If you want beautiful skin, you're going to have to help your body to balance your hormones.

When treating acne, a common mistake is thinking that we should scrub our face harder to "get cleaner" in an effort to get rid of acne. In fact, scrubbing vigorously is not only hard on your skin, but AGGRAVATES ACNE AND MAKES IT WORSE! Don't over scrub your face to get rid of blackheads and pimples. Clean your face the right way and use an acne product that attacks acne where it begins by exfoliating dead skin cells and reopening clogged pores. When cleansing, pat your face gently with circular motions. It's not the scrub action that determines how clean your face gets, but the products you use to clean it with that make the huge difference in whether or not your acne is controlled.

Get clear skin today.  A Step-by-Step Guide to Proper Cleansing

1. Remove your makeup before washing your face.

Most cleansers work better and more efficiently if your face is thoroughly wet. Removing your makeup ensures that the oils in the cosmetics would not repel water and allow the cleanser to reach a good lather. You can do this by using baby oil or makeup remover on cotton balls and rubbing the makeup lightly off your face.

2. Wash your face thoroughly using lukewarm or room-temperature water.

Never wash your face with water that is too hot or too cold. Extreme temperatures can break capillaries, dehydrate skin, or even aggravate pimples. Studies also show that there is a marked improvement between the effectiveness of cleansers used with water of the right temperature over those that were applied with hot or cold water.

3. Use a gentle anti-acne cleanser specially formulated for your skin type.

If you have hypersensitive skin, you should choose a product that is mild and hypoallergenic. Meanwhile, if you have very oily skin, you might want to choose something that's slightly stronger than your regular cleanser. If you're uncertain about what kind of product to use, you should consult your dermatologist first or just go for one of those dermatologist-tested products that are good for any skin type.

4. Apply a small amount of cleanser on your face.

Pour a pea-sized amount of cleanser on your wet palms and lather it before applying on your face. Since most cleansers are concentrated, they can dehydrate your face and strip it of necessary moisture. Diluting it with water activates its ingredients and allows it to be spread evenly on your face.

Some cleansers have microbeads loaded with antibacterial agents that act like scrubs so let it work for you. Most people think that the more they scrub, the more dirt they can get off their faces. This is wrong. Not only do they risk breaking capillaries, but scrubbing can also aggravate acne by pushing dirt and bacteria deeper into the pores. What you should do is massage the lather or foam onto your face in a gentle circular motion. This facilitates the blood flow in your face which improves your complexion while allowing the ingredients of your cleanser to penetrate deep in your skin.

5. Rinse your face completely and pat it dry.

Rinse your face with lukewarm running water thoroughly. Although trusted cleansers have easy-rinse formulations, it is best to ensure that you thoroughly wash your face of any trace of foam or lather. Not doing so might leave residues behind that can block your pores and aggravate your acne. After rinsing the cleanser off, use a soft, clean towel to dry your face. Never rub the towel on your face as though you are removing stubborn dirt. Just pat it dry with a non-abrasive towel.

If you are using a skin care system, you could follow this cleansing ritual with a special toner and moisturizer. Remember that when choosing a toner and a moisturizer, you should go for the ones that are compatible with your cleanser and your skin. However, if you are using a skin care system, product incompatibility should not be a problem.

Now that you know how to properly cleanse your face, your acne should surely become the least of your worries. Your face is the first thing people see when they look at you, so it's really important that you keep it clean, smooth, and acne-free. The only way you can do that is if you follow a good skin regimen. Always keep in mind that a clean skin is a beautiful skin.

My last advice in obtaining beautiful skin is that there is only one good skin regimen and it includes three (sometimes four) steps: cleansing, toning, and moisturizing. These three skin care steps are the basics, and they should be done everyday if you really want to maintain your beautiful skin You should do this skin regimen twice a day, right after you wake up and right before you sleep. Since acne starts in the pores, keeping the pores clean is one of the best ways to keep acne from plaguing your skin.

The 11 Fast and Natural Steps to Stop Pimples

Author:  Guru Zuru

Simply put, pimples are just small infections on the skin pores. A bacterium that resides on the exterior of the skin causes this infectivity.Unless it gets inside the skin pores, this bacterium is actually not dangerous. Breaking the zits can cause the bacterium and pus to expand under the skin and cause another pimple. Every time you disturb a pimple it will also cause a scar. Hiding its presence and letting it die down on its own is the best way to get rid of pimples.

There are several easy steps you can follow to rid yourself of pimples quickly. Here are some of these simple steps:

1. Administer ice over the spot several occasions during the day. This abates the bump and makes the pimple less conspicuous.

2. Avoid junk foods and trim down your consumption of food containing sugar and vegetable oil.

3. Seek advice from dermatologist for a pimple cream to use.

4. Sleep soundly in the night. It boosts the immune system to battle off bacteria and other infections.

5. You can also apply toothpaste over the pimple which also aids in removing the pimple the following morning.

6. Rehydrate with plenty of water. This further washes toxins off the body.

7. Eliminating stress is the best way to stop pimples. Once stress level goes down its easier to get rid of pimples fast.

8. Garlic also helps in reducing pimples. Massage garlic on your face several times a day for about a week.

9. Areas that are susceptible to pimples should be cleansed with a cleanser at least two times in every day.

10. Keep away from oil based moisturizers and makeup.

11. Use creams that contain tea tree oil because tea tree oil has been clinically proven to be just as effective as 5% benzoyl peroxide (the ingredient used in most on the shelf acne products). Unlike benzoyl peroxide, Tea Tree Oil is natural and does not contain the side effects accompany with chemically-derived benzoyl peroxide.

Stopping pimples quickly is hard to do in a short period of time. It is of utmost importance to keep your overall skin healthy. The tips above can help you conceal the acne until they die down on their own. Pimples are upsetting and it's frustrating when trying to get rid of them. There are many effective ways to get rid of pimples fast. By pursuing the steps above you will have a beautiful and healthy skin.

The Answer to All Your Problems - A Natural Remedy for Dark Circles Under Eyes

Author:  Laurel Levine

Listen up! A natural remedy for dark circles under eyes is the answer to all of your problems related to discoloration, puffiness beneath the eyes, lines, and wrinkles. That is if you have the right combination of specially formulated natural ingredients working for you. Not just any natural remedy is going to eliminate the laundry list of issues related to the formation of the unsightly bags and dark circles from which you are suffering.

This means that you can pretty much forget using the many home remedies that are commonly touted as an answer to the problems you are having. What these treatments mostly consist of are little more than cold compresses in the form of various vegetable slices, and tea bags to name just a few. These treatments provide you with temporary relief from puffiness and discoloration, but don't address the real problems.

What you are going to have to do is find an over the counter natural remedy for dark circles under eyes, bags, and wrinkles, that has been developed with specific ingredients. What is effective for treating the causes of aging are nano-emulsified forms of nutrients, protein peptides, and protein complexes blended with enzymes. You are obviously not going to find these components in any local health food, or grocery store.

You have to be careful in choosing the products that you use; because many of the anti aging skin care formulas available will not provide you with what it is that you need. The cosmetic companies are infamous for relying on cost effective chemically produced synthetic compounds in their formulas. The specially developed compounds you need to be successful are generally out of the price range that most companies want to spend.

It is likely that your natural remedy for dark circles under eyes will contain animal derived collagen, elastin, or hyaluronic acid for firming and smoothing your skin, and often the product will contain a combination of all three. Tissues and polymer from dead commercial livestock is plentiful, which means that it is cheap. It is a shame that more people don't know that the molecular density of these tissues and polymer make it impossible for their skin to absorb them.

The most effective method of smoothing and firming the skin is absorbing bio-available compounds like Nano-Lipobelle H EQ10, and Cynergy TK. These are two of the all natural nutrient variations and protein complex and enzyme mixes that I referred to earlier. These ingredients will aid you by producing a significant increase in the production of your collagen and elastin.

The most effective natural remedy for dark circles under eyes and bags will contain the peptide based compounds known as Eyeliss and Haloxyl. These ingredients have been proven to increase blood flow to the eye region, improve fluid and hemoglobin removal, stabilize your capillary system, and thicken the skin beneath the eyes. They also help to reduce skin slackening, and improve firmness and elasticity.

Make no mistake about it. A natural remedy for dark circles under eyes, bags, and wrinkles that feature this miraculous quartet of ingredients is all you need.

Skin Care - Learn The Basics

Author:  Angie Kocsi  Skin types are unique and react in different ways to weather, environment, and creams and/or lotions. In order to keep skin healthy and youthful in appearance it is essential to know your skin type and how to care for it.   Most skin care specialists will advise to apply moisturizers all over the body to nourish the skin. Top of the list in skin care is sun protection to prevent serious damage to the delicate skin structure. A few other simple steps will help you care for your particular skin type.  Normal Skin: Use a rich cream or lotion to moisturize the skin. Be sure to apply the moisturizer to the neck and coller. Don’t forget to moisturize the elbows and knees. It’s best to apply moisturizers after bathing while the skin is still moist for better absorption.  Oily Skin: There are already plenty of natural oils in this skin type, so use a light moisturizer. A body mist spray is also good for oily skin, as it will sit gently on the skin, without stimulating the glands that produce body oils. To avoid breakouts it is important to keep pores from becoming clogged.  Combination Skin: This type of skin usually refers to just the face. The neck however, should not be forgotten. The neck area tends to be dry if you have this type of skin. A light moisturizer that contains sunscreen should be used in order to combat dryness. At night a richer cream will nourish the skin as you sleep, keeping it smooth, supple and youthful.  Dry Skin: A deep penetrating cream will nourish this type of skin. Try an oil-based lotion as an alternative; it will leave the skin silky and smooth. Dry skin is often aggravated by air conditioning, wind and sun. Always use extra moisturizers to keep hydrated when exposed to these elements.  Sensitive Skin: This type of skin often needs special attention. Formulated and medicated creams can be obtained to address specific individual needs. A visit to a professional will help evaluate this type of skin and assist in designing a skin care regime that addresses each particular case.
  • Keep your skin protected from the sun at all times.
  • Drink plenty of water.
  • Get lots of sleep.
  • Do not rub the skin - always pat skin dry with a soft towel.
  • Consult your aesthetician or dermatologist they can advise you on solutions to most problem skin conditions.

Natural Hair Care

Author:   Brad Jones

Bromelain Enzyme and the natural hair care  Bromelain is one of several compounds known as proteolytic enzymes, all of which aid in the digestion of protein. Bromelain supplements are now included in some of the natural hair care products. The plant enzyme bromelain has yet to get the hair care product recommendations. But there is more to bromelain than hair care. The natural plant enzyme bromelain obtained from the pineapple is known to provide a number of health benefits as discussed below.  Bromelain Research  By 1891, researchers identified the proteolytic enzyme bromelain, which they found in the fleshy part of the fruit. This enzyme was discovered to break down protein, and as such, is still used to day as a natural meat tenderizer and digestive aid. By 1957, bromelain was widely recognized and research also began into such areas as muscle and tissue inflammation, burn recovery, infection, and even sinus problems. The most recognized use for bromelain is as a digestive aid. This enzyme is commonly used in cases in which an individuals own digestive enzymes are deficient, frequently resulting from pancreatic disorders. In such cases, bromelain supplements can relieve gastrointestinal symptoms including bloating, gas, pain and cramps from indigestion and diarrhea. Studies show that proteolytic enzymes like bromelain may also indirectly relive food allergies thought to occur from a condition called leaky gut, in which whole protein molecules from foods leak into the blood causing an allergic or immune response. Bromelain's digestive properties are particularly enhanced when used along side other enzymes such as amylase that digests starch and lipase, necessary for fat digestion. Some laboratory studies suggest that bromelain may also be useful for reducing bad intestinal bacteria.  Bromelain is so effective at digesting protein that workers who frequently cut the fruit often lose their fingerprints to the active properties of the enzyme. As well as this fruit's amazing digestive qualities, it is also an excellent source of vitamins A and vitamin C, a benefit the Spaniards took advantage of on their many extended trips out to sea.  The fibrous nature of pineapple however, is also known to relieve constipation, as well ancient cultures frequently used pineapples to cure jaundice and kill intestinal parasites. Ripe pineapple juice is well known as a remedy to induce menstruation and relieve painful periods. Bromelain's photolytic properties also make this enzyme a natural blood thinner. The digestive substance in the enzyme breaks down the blood clotting protein called fibrin, which inhibits circulation and prevents tissues from effectively draining.  European studies have consistently shown that bromelain is also an excellent treatment for those recovering from sports injuries and in tissue repair necessary after surgery. Evidence suggests that some supplemental enzymes in particular can be absorbed directly into the circulatory system in their active form where they then exhibit anti-inflammatory and pain relieving actions.  Bromelain has proven especially effective when applied directly to the skin to remove dead tissue resulting from severe burns that have reached all skin layers. These third-degree burns as they are known, are extremely susceptible to infection and swelling. The digestive properties of the bromelain cleanse the areas and remove the excess dead tissue and as well, its anti-inflammatory properties may help to reduce the pain caused by swelling. Countries such as Japan and Taiwan and in the state of Hawaii where pineapples are abundant, widely recognize bromelain as a remedy to cleanse wounds. Another interesting use for bromelain may be as a cough suppressant and nasal decongestant  Commercial Bromelain: Dosage  Commercial bromelain products for treating number of human and animal disorders are now available in the market.Health professionals suggest that while choosing a commercial a bromelain product, choose the enzyme supplement that uses a variety of other enzymes. It is best to blend enzymes with activity units at various pH levels to assure maximum effectiveness.  According to experts, in most cases, bromelain should only be taken for between 8 and10 days. There are two recognized drug reactions with bromelain. This enzyme is said to enhance antibiotics. One study shows that amoxicillin blood levels are increased when combined with bromelain. Additional studies show that the antibiotic tetracycline is better absorbed when used in conjunction with bromelain, however researchers say that further investigation is still necessary since studies in this area are conflicting.  If you are taking the herbs gingko, ginger, vitamin C or garlic or medications such as aspirin or warfarin, a common blood thinner, bromelain could potentially increase the risk of bleeding. It is therefore best to avoid this enzyme. In any case, if you are taking any type of prescription medication, it is always best to speak with a health professional prior to adding any herbs or supplements since interactions are often common.

Vitamins For Female Hair Loss Prevention

Author:  Kathlene Capelle

In today's image conscious society, physical appearance is more important than ever to a woman's self-esteem. Imagine the heartache caused when a woman notices her hair thinning? It is estimated that over 25 million women experience thinning hair in the United States. Many are genetically predisposed to the condition. Most wonder if there are any natural remedies to help or prevent their female hair loss.  Several vitamins have been found to be very effective in supporting female hair health. Of course, many factors may contribute to female hair loss but proper nutrition can help prevent further thinning and more loss.  Vitamin A has been found to support the healthy development of tissues and cells in the body and also supports healthy hair. This important vitamin promotes healthy hair follicles by keeping the root of the hair lubricated. Vitamin A can be found in green vegetables, particularly the leafy ones, red, orange and yellow vegetables, liver and eggs. Many good multivitamins contain the recommended daily allowance of vitamin A, so don't take additional supplements without a physician's supervision. Overdoses of vitamin A can be dangerous.  A healthy scalp is also essential to healthy hair. Vitamin E supports a healthy scalp by helping to increase the oxygen supplied through the blood. Americans rarely suffer from a vitamin E deficiency, but increasing one's intake of green leafy vegetables, fortified grains and cereals and nuts can help ensure that this important nutrient is adequate. Vitamin E supplements are also available for this matter.  The B vitamins are also important for hair health. Regulating the amount of iron in the blood, these vitamins also help oxygen flow through the lungs to the tissues. Of course, a B vitamin deficiency would damage the hair and scalp by limiting the amount of oxygen that these tissues receive. B vitamins are available as supplements and in several foods, including proteins and soybeans, cereals, nuts and wheat germ. If a proper nutrition that involves essential vitamins and minerals helps in hair loss prevention and a good healthy scalp, then paying extra attention to the food and supplements that you eat is well worth the time and effort!

Healthy Hair Through All Natural Options

Author:  Janice Jenkins

Today, more and more women are finding ways to achieve shiny, healthy-looking hair. For obvious reasons. One of which is that every girl wants to be praised and admired. Oftentimes, when you are beautiful, you get to enjoy its many benefits. For instance, if you are looking for a job, you have high chances of being hired if you are pleasant-looking. And having shiny hair contributes a lot to being beautiful and pleasant. Companies hire good-looking employees because it helps them entice more clients. Nevertheless, having healthy hair through natural means does not seem to be an easy task. Read on and you will uncover some simple tips on how to achieve great hair naturally.

It is a must to pay attention to your crowning glory. When you have shiny hair, you become more attractive and appealing. Nonetheless, times change and so do hairstyles. Fashion aficionados have a say on what hairstyle will make it big. If you want to be appreciated and noticed, you would want to sport the latest hairstyle. Still, a lot of women still choose to be simple and content with their present hairdo as long as their hair is healthy. One fad that significantly affects the health of the hair, though, is the use of hair beauty products. With all the chemicals they contain, they cause the hair to dry up easily. You could find hair beauty products in the market that seem less harmless and more protective but if you try to use them for a week, they actually cause more harm than good to the hair. Therefore, to ensure that you have glowing hair all the time, it is best to know what hair beauty products are good and suitable to your crowning glory.

When it comes to your skin, it is a must to understand the importance of proper skin care. At the present time, our skin is repetitively rendered open to harmful elements around us including pollution. This gave birth to the many skin care products in the market today. However, it is crucial to know that not all commercial products are good for the skin. Selecting right skin care products is also a challenging task. So it is important to actually go back to the basics when caring for your skin before you purchase the highly commercialized products. This means carrying out a basic skin care routine everyday to keep your skin glowing naturally.

Truly, beauty is subjective; that it is in the eyes of the beholder holds true. Keep in mind, however, that true beauty comes from projecting an affirmative outlook in life. If we project ourselves as beautiful, that is how other people will perceive us to be. If we are carrying a problem, people would instantly notice based on the facial expressions and gestures we make. So if we want to be perceived as beautiful, we have to act like we are really beautiful. Talk and walk with grace and people will definitely appreciate your pleasant persona.

If you, however, aim to have natural beauty, you have to evade highly commercialized hair beauty products and skin care products. If you can care for your hair and skin naturally, stick to it. Do not be lured by all the promises that beauty companies promise their clients. For instance, if you have heard of the online company called extended lengths, you must have known a little about its background. Extended lengths, according to its website, offer beauty products at discounted prices. They have products for both the hair and skin that are allegedly more affordable than those sold by your local cosmetics store. Extended lengths also say they can send the products you purchased to your house or any address you have specified. But have you checked out client feedbacks about them? It is important to read online forums and review sites to have a clear idea of what customers have to say about extended lengths or any other online company you are eyeing. These forums are places where you can find both positive and negative comments about products they offer and about the company itself. I am pretty sure extended lengths have its own bad reviews. Go check out comments from other people and you'll definitely be enlightened about purchasing hair beauty products and skin care products over the Net.

All these still boils down to having beautiful hair the natural way. If you can go natural all the time, by all means do so. There is nothing quite like using all-natural options to be beautiful and admired.

Whipped Shea Butter & Its Many Uses

Author:  Lisa Maliga

Shea butter, also referred to as karite, which means life has been used across the African continent for centuries. It hails from Central and Western Africa. It's actually a nut fat, as it's obtained from the fruit of the kernel. Shea nuts are picked by women, then par-boiled, and sun-dried for a week in order to dehydrate the nut. This increases their storage time. The next step is to crush the dried fruit, in order to remove the skin. When the shea butter is hand crushed like this, it retains all its numerous vitamins and minerals and the nutty, smoky scent is naturally preserved. The color ranges from off white to gray to golden brown to green, depending upon the maturity of the nut. It's always refined at least once, in order to remove dirt, bits of gourd, or leaves, objects that would not be fun to apply to your skin.   In Africa, shea butter is often used as a cooking oil. Shea butter can also be used as a hair conditioner, as a way to prevent sunburn pain, to soothe cracked, dry feet and hands, especially during those skin-drying winter months or for those of you who live in a dry climate. According to noted soapmaker/author Susan Miller Cavitch, in her 1995 book The Natural Soap Book, writes: "Shea butter is gentle enough for babies and people with sensitive skin. It soothes and softens dry chapped skin, while nourishing all skin types. I have come to rely heavily upon shea butter for its effectiveness." She was using this wonderful substance, and including it in her homemade soaps, long before most people in North America had even heard of shea butter!  The texture of this life giving butter is smooth and creamy. However, since the early part of this century, a new way to make shea butter even more luxurious and soft is to blend it with high quality plant and seed oils in order to create a whipped cream like texture which glides onto your skin. Whipped Shea Butter can be made by those who know which combinations of oils and shea butter can be whipped together to create that natural moisturizer your skin needs and yet not be too heavy/greasy. Properly made whipped shea butter is light, creamy and fluffy and resembles Cool Whip yet doesn't need to be refrigerated.   In 2003 Google's search engine returned only 80 matches for whipped shea butter. Nowadays, it's over 2000! However, for those of you unfamiliar with this wonderful product, whipped shea butter is always 100% natural, containing only shea butter and vegetable/plant/seed oils and an antioxidant such as vitamin E. It can be found unscented or with added fragrances/essential oils. Whipped Shea butter doesn't have any type of wax, water, preservatives, or petroleum/mineral oils. Whipped Shea Butter is always light, creamy and fluffy, making it easily absorbed into your skin. This is one of the most versatile products available as it can be used as a hair conditioner, makeup remover, all-over moisturizer, softens cuticles, and always soothes dry or chapped skin. Lighter in weight than plain shea butter, whipped shea butter is a sumptuous yet economical way to pamper the body's largest organ your skin.

Tips To Heal Unsightly Cracked Skin

Author: Rachel Gillespe

There are several reason you might experience cracked skin; cold weather, excessive washing of hands, dry skin, skin diseases, or going barefoot are just a few. If you do develop cracks or skin fissures on your hands or feet, you should take steps to treat the area as soon as you can. Cracked skin is a health hazard since it allows an opening for germs. The following tips will help you heal unsightly cracked skin.

Soak the area every night

The first step in healing your cracked skin is to soak the effected area every night for at least 20 minutes. This allows your skin to soak up moisture and soften up the tough calloused areas which are prone to cracking. The cells of your skin require adequate hydration to stay soft and supple. When you are finished with your hydration by soaking, simply pat the area dry with a soft towel. Do not rub it dry as this is liable to irritate skin which might be tender due to the cracking and chafing.

Seal the moisture in

Now that you have hydrated your cells, you need to lock the moisture in by applying a petroleum jelly product such as Vaseline. Other lotions may be used in a pinch, but they do not seal as well as Vaseline. Next, slip cotton socks on if it is your feet that are cracked, or cotton gloves if it is your hands. Go to bed and leave them in place overnight and let the moisture revitalize your skin so they can heal.

Following the above routine is also helpful in preventing chapped skin and cracking. So at the first sign of dry or painful skin, start the hydrating regimen. In addition, you can further hydrate your body by drinking adequate amounts of water everyday.

Having dry, cracked, and bleeding hands or feet is a health hazard and painful to endure. Not only that, it is embarrassing. The best course of action is to prevent cracks from forming in the first place if at all possible.
